• Sarasota Retired Educators Scholarship (Local scholarship opportunity for graduating seniors who wish to become teachers in Florida. The recipient will be expected to teach in a state-accredited public or private school in Florida for at least one year, following graduation.), amount $500 - $1,000, DEADLINE 2/11/22

• Frank and Ellen Daveler Educational Scholarship (High School senior residing in specified Fl Counties including Sarasota and Manatee with financial need and pursing a 4-year degree in Entrepreneurship and/or Business fields and other non-specified majors), amount $1,000,   DEADLINE 2/14/22

• Business and Professional Women/North Sarasota Scholarship Book Award (Local scholarship for African American female seniors with a minimum 2.5 GPA and participation in community service), amount varies,    DEADLINE 2/28/22

• Upcoming Deadlines:·Hispanic Heritage Month Essay Contest (Statewide essay contest for grades 4-12 on “Celebrating Hispanic-American Community Leaders and Champions”), amount 4-Year Florida College Plan scholarship, DEADLINE 10/11/21

• Chick-fil-A Remarkable Futures Scholarships (Employees of Chick-fil-A can are eligible to apply for two different scholarships to be used at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or technical/vocational school), amount $1,000 - $25,000, DEADLINE 10/28/21

• Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship (Nationwide achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors with capacity to lead, serve and make an impact on their schools and communities), amount $20,000,                               DEADLINE 10/31/21 4:00 PM EST

• Southern Scholarship Foundation (Qualified students attending FAMU, FGCU, FSU, Santa Fe College, Tallahassee Community College, and UF are awarded scholarships in the form of rent-free housing to live in one of twenty-seven furnished scholarship houses that are adjacent to their college campus), amount room and board, 2022 Spring Semester DEADLINE is 11/1/21; 2022 Fall semester deadline is 4/1/22

• The Cooke College Scholarship Program (Nationwide undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with a minimum 3.5 GPA and financial need planning to attend a 4-year college in Fall 2022), amount varies, DEADLINE 11/18/21

What is an FSA ID, and will I need it to complete the FAFSA® form?

• The FSA ID allows students and parents to identify themselves electronically to access Federal Student Aid websites.
• An FSA ID is made up of a username and password and can be used to log into the online  (FAFSA®) form.
• While you aren’t required to have an FSA ID to complete and submit a FAFSA form, it’s the fastest way to sign your application and have it processed. It’s also the only way to access or correct your information online, or to prefill an online FAFSA form with information from your previous year’s FAFSA form.

*If you don't already have an FSA ID, you can create an FSA ID.

*If you have an FSA ID but don't remember your username, select "Forgot Username."

*If you have an FSA ID but don't remember your password, select "Forgot Password."

**If you previously created an FSA ID when you were a student, you don’t need to create another one. You can only have one FSA ID linked to your Social Security number.**

Launch Your Plan - College & Career Resources through Sarasota County

SMA offers juniors and seniors the opportunity to take State College of Florida (SCF) courses. For some cadets, this is a valuable way to earn college course credit free of charge and still complete high school requirements for graduation. The student may choose to take one or more SCF courses and even achieve an associate degree while earning their high school diploma.

This program choice is for young adults who can manage both the coursework and the schedule. The SCF dual enrollment program is an excellent option to get a head start on a college career and save considerable tuition dollars.
