Sarasota Military Academy (SMA) Outreach Director Dr. Todd Brown, PhD. was recently recognized as the “STEM teacher of the Year” by the Florida West Coast chapter of the Air Force Association (AFA). The award was presented to Dr. Brown in October at the Sarasota Military Academy Prep middle school campus. 

Sarasota Military Academy senior Juliana Rendle was recently announced as a recipient of the prestigious Legion of Valor “Bronze Cross for Achievement” award from The Legion of Valor of the United States of America, Inc. organization. The award, given annually, celebrates the achievement of scholastic excellence in military and academic subjects for outstanding cadets.

Sarasota Military Academy, a local public charter school, has released a list of celebrity guests and industry experts scheduled to present during the annual “Inspire Project” curriculum, a program created by Sarasota Military Academy (SMA) Outreach Director Todd Brown, Ph.D. 

Students and staff at Sarasota Military Academy, a local, public charter school, have partnered with Gold Aviation Services, a private luxury jet and aircraft carrier, to supply relief to the people in the Bahamas affected by the devastation from Hurricane Dorian.

Sarasota Military Academy’s Interact Club, a service club for cadets at the Prep middle school campus, recently completed a project in partnership with the Rotary Club and Easterseals Southwest Florida to help local children who have sensory processing disorders (SPD).

Sarasota Military Academy Major (SMA-MAJ) Deb Walker, a teacher at the  Sarasota Military Academy Prep middle school campus, received the “2019 Excellence in Teaching about Agriculture” award from the Florida Agriculture in the Classroom organization.

Several cadets at Sarasota Military Academy (SMA), a local public charter school, have recently completed an oncology rotation through an internship partnership with Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

High school staff and cadets at Sarasota Military Academy (SMA), a local public charter school, recently created a documentary to recognize and celebrate female veterans that served in WWII. After the project was completed, the cadets presented the documentary to local female veterans during a luncheon hosted at Atria Senior Living in Sarasota.

Keeping Sarasota County Beautiful recently awarded Sarasota Military Academy (SMA) Prep middle school cadets and staff with the “School Excellence” award during the 30th Annual KSCB Volunteer Awards Recognition Dinner, held on November 7, 2018.
