At Sarasota Military Academy, the heart of our success has always been the meaningful bonds formed within our community. Across both campuses, our cadets build lasting friendships, learn to lead alongside one another, and grow through the guidance of devoted teachers and mentors who are deeply committed to their development. These relationships create an environment where every cadet feels seen, supported, and challenged to reach their potential.From the beginning, SMA’s mission has centered on building character and defining purpose, and it is through these strong connections—cadet to cadet, cadet to teacher, and cadet to mentor—that this mission comes to life each day. The culture of trust, respect, and encouragement cultivated on our campuses is what empowers our cadets to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
This Giving Tuesday, we invite our outside community, alumni, and donors to stand with Sarasota Military Academy in supporting our mission of developing character and defining purpose for every cadet.As a nonprofit public charter school, SMA relies on annual fundraising to bridge the gap between district funding and the true cost of providing the high-quality, innovative learning environment our cadets deserve. Your generosity directly strengthens the educational experience on both of our campuses.
This year, a major focus of our Giving Tuesday campaign is the rising cost of technology. With necessary upgrades to all desktops across both campuses and annual subscriptions to essential instructional programs, SMA now invests over $90,000 each year to ensure cadets have the tools they need to thrive.* At the Middle School, this includes platforms like IXL Learning for math and English and support for our Leader in Me Lighthouse Program.* At the High School, we rely on Mathmetic and CommonLit for core instruction.* Across both campuses, cadets benefit from programs such as Thinking Maps, USA Test Prep, and DreamBox—all vital to daily learning and academic growth.Safety remains another top priority. This year, enhancements include adding an additional fob-entry security gate at the High School and expanding camera coverage at the Middle School. We are also tremendously grateful for our partnership with the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, which provides two dedicated deputies for each campus—an invaluable but continually rising expense that we are committed to sustaining.Your gift today helps us protect what makes SMA exceptional: a safe, innovative, student-centered environment where cadets can discover their purpose.On this Giving Tuesday, your support truly makes an impact.
