There is no tuition to attend SMA. Sarasota Military Academy is a free, public charter school, college preparatory and career pathway program with two campuses located in Sarasota, Florida. As a public charter, there is no tuition required to attend SMA.

SMA is not a boarding school. Although we have as our foundation a military structure and our high school is an all school JROTC program, we are not what many perceive as a "military reform school". SMA takes a modern approach in understanding the power of character and skill building focused in both the military and a 21st century education.

SMA buses cadets from all over Sarasota and Manatee County including pocket pick-up stops. You may choose any of those stops to send your cadet to school.

Before care is offered at the SMA Prep Campus (grades 6 - 8). This is a safe and affordable option for parents to drop off their children before school each day. Our goal is to support families who need options earlier than the regular 8:30 AM drop-off start time by providing a learning environment at school for their children to complete homework or engage in other activities as early as 7 AM. Breakfast is available (for purchase or through the free/reduced program) at 8:30 AM. Hours: 7 – 8:30 AM, Monday through Friday, excluding school holidays and days off.
