SMA-MAJ, Science Instructor, Dept. Chair
B.S. Secondary Science Education (Biology emphasis)- Saint Petersburg College, Clearwater, FL
I began my career in education as a substitute for 7th grade Life Science in Pinellas County at a public middle school. In 2009, I taught 7th grade Life Science and 8th grade Physical Science at a Manatee County Public Charter School. That same year I was chosen as one of nine Florida educators to attend Honeywell's Space Camp for Educators in Huntsville, Alabama. During my time at camp, I learned many inquiry labs to use in my Science classroom. I also participated in a Civil Air Patrol (CAP) workshop. For the past three years, I have been teaching 8th grade Science and a Science Challenge elective at a Sarasota County Public Charter School. I look forward to instilling a passion for Science, while providing the opportunities for students to use scientific reasoning and critical thinking skills in all aspects of life.
