Born in New York and as a child immersed in a Spanish-speaking school in Puerto Rico. I learned to appreciate the value of bilingualism and biliteracy. I found education to be liberating and got myself involved in clubs and sports with the intention of serving others and making a difference in my school and community. I was the first in my family to complete a college degree. In Delaware, I worked as a counselor for many years and then decided to be a Spanish teacher. Destiny found a way to unite my calling to counsel and teach, so I became a teacher leader, a school counselor, a disciplinarian, a mentor, an instructional coach, and a school administrator. I am passionate about learning and love to read, research, and reflect on life. I am really excited to be part of SMA and believe in the vision of the academy. My family and I look forward in making new memories in Florida and are blessed to be a part of this wonderful community.
