Community Service and Volunteering

SMA High cadets are encouraged to volunteer and accumulate community service hours.  The goal is a minimum of seventy-five community volunteer hours by graduation in the senior year.

Community service volunteer hours also impact Florida Bright Futures scholarship eligibility, so not only is volunteering part of the SMA way, but it also serves to prepare for potential collegiate financial aid.

While community volunteer service hours accrued in the Prep middle school years are an excellent altruistic behavior and mindset to learn early in life, volunteer hours for Bright Futures does not begin accumulating until high school.
