Ms. Alexandra Quarles

Sarasota Military Academy Foundation, Inc.

 Ms. Quarles is a member of the philanthropic community since 1981, beginning her career at Mote Marine Laboratory Foundation. She has held senior development positions in not-for-profit organizations such as the University of South Florida Health Sciences Center; the University of Tampa; the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute Foundation, and for over twenty years, the Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation, Inc.

For more than twenty-five years, Ms. Quarles has held an active membership with the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), serving as president of both the Suncoast chapter in Tampa and the Southwest Florida chapter in Sarasota. In 1986 she obtained her Certified Fund Raising Executive credentials (CFRE). She has been faculty for the AFP Survey Course for professional certification, a former member of the AFP National Board of Directors, chair, and has served on the AFP National Leadership Development Task Force. She held four terms as a national delegate for both the Tampa and Sarasota chapters of AFP.

Ms. Quarles also is a member of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), and served in 1993 and 1996 as a member of the conference committee and regional cabinet member in government relations for Region IV.

As a frequent speaker, Ms. Quarles shares her professional expertise and provides consultation with not-for-profit organizations. Often a panelist speaker for numerous conferences and meetings as well as a featured speaker and trainer at international, regional and chapter conferences for both AFP and AHP, her expertise reaches a broad and diverse not-for-profit audience. She served two terms on the Committee on Directorship for AFP and was a member of the Curriculum Development Committee and the AFP Regionalization Commission.

Ms. Quarles is an alumna of the Indiana University-Purdue University Center on Philanthropy's Executive Leadership Institute (ELI); the University of Tampa; Leadership Tampa; Leadership Tampa Bay; past chair of Leadership Sarasota County, and an alumna of Leadership Florida, serving on statewide committees. She also served on the Executive Committee of the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce board of trustees, was past president of the Sarasota Woman's Alliance, and served as president of Little Gull Condominium Association on Longboat Key.

Ms. Quarles proudly serves as a board member for the Sarasota Military Academy lending her wealth of understanding and experience to the organization.
